Battle of the city parks

It began as a question of which city has better parks--well, more and better, and whether they are well distributed. I think Seattle has a lot going for it with the Sound reachable through so many of the parks. I miss wave action. Jim is convinced that Portland's parks have better distribution and there are more with interesting, visit-worthy features. I need to give the parks of Portland a fair shake. The goal is to visit them all. Not quickly. Not exhaustively, but to visit each one and give it a chance. Look at its trees, play on its toys, throw the frisbee around a little, check out the special feature of note.

We've already been to several, including Tryon Creek, near Lewis & Clark and a nice break from the horrors of Barbri. We crossed a number of creeks, and found the skin of a tree, like a snake that shed its skin. It was sturdy, though, and we could climb all over it.
